Informal Praise Service
The first of these is going to take
place on Sunday 12th November 2006 in Drumany. This is a completely
new initiative in our Group of Parishes along with the parishioners
of Derrylin Parish. The service is not designed to exclude any
person, regardless of age or gender but it is anticipated that
it will hold more appeal for the younger folk in our congregations.
Please do come along and be open to an alternative, less formal
way of worshipping God and bring your Mum or Dad, Granny or
Granda with you!

Barn Brack Supper
Thank you to everyone who came along
to the Parish Hall in Ballyconnell on Friday night 6th October.
A good night’s crack was had by everyone as we danced
to Kay and Nashville, although some of us may have stretched
the definition of dancing somewhat! Thank you to everyone who
worked behind the scenes and made the night possible. Around
€1000 was raised for the Church Repair Fund.

Christianity Explored
This is a highly regarded course which
helps people to examine the Christian faith in an informal setting.
In essence it deals with 3 key questions;
The course is for everyone, not just
people who have not yet committed themselves to becoming a disciple
of Jesus. It is not a prayer meeting or a bible study, but it
is a means of finding out more about Jesus through looking at
Mark’s Gospel over 10 weeks.
The following is the timetable of events;

Each meeting will begin at 8 pm with
a cup of tea/coffee and informal chat, a presentation through
a DVD and some discussion regarding what we have seen, heard
and read each evening should end at 9.30 pm. This course will
take place in our newly renovated room to the rear of the stage
in Tomregan but it is for the whole of the Group. Beatrice Crawford
from Kinawley has very kindly agreed to assist me with the delivery
as facilitation of discussion is one of the key elements involved
and I would be unable to do this on my own.

Bereavement
Our Sympathy is
extended to the family of the late John Johnston of Ballyhugh.
John was known to many of us, particularly as a cattle
dealer of long standing. John died very suddenly and unexpectedly
on the morning of Thursday 14th September. Our sincere
sympathies are extended to his widow Eileen, her sons
Ivor, Mervyn, David and Trevor and his sister Georgina.
